Evaluation of the incidence of mucositis in patients on anti-angiogenic drugs

Abstract

An observational, prospective, descriptive and analytical study which was carried out in the medical oncology department of the hospital Frantz Fanon Blida. In order to assess the impact of anti-angiogenic agents on the oral mucosa. The study period extended over 6 months, from November 2018 to May 2019 by interns in dental medicine. Our study concerns all the patients who were followed for colorectal, lung,ovary, breast, liver or renal cancer at di erent stages and who were on the following anti-angiogenic molecules: Bevacizumab alone or in combination with chemotherapy based on Folfex, Folfiri, Sorafenib, Sunitinib and Regorafenib, and aims to assess the incidence of mucositis in these patients.

Une étude observationnelle, prospective, descriptive et analytique qui a été menée dans le service d’oncologie médicale du CHU Frantz Fanon de Blida. Dans le but d’évaluer l’impact des anti-angiogéniques sur la muqueuse buccale. La période d'étude s'est étendue sur 6 mois, de Novembre 2018 au Mai 2019 par des internes en médecine dentaire. Notre étude porte sur tous les patients qui ont été suivis pour cancer colorectal, des poumons, des ovaires, des seins, hépatique ou rénal à des stades di érents et qui ont été sous molécules anti-angiogéniques suivantes: Bevacizumab seul ou en association avec une chimiothérapie à base de Folfex, Folfiri, Sorafenib, Sunitinib et Regorafenib, et a pour objectif d’évaluer l’incidence des mucites chez ces patients.
