Abstract : A dry mouth is frequently observed in elderly patients. This condition does not seem to be a result of ageing of the glandular tissues but rather attributed to the side effects of medications which may affect salivary flow, Sjôgren Syndrome and radiotherapy. After a thorough review of the etiology, symptoms, as well as the impact on the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity and the available treatments for xerostomia and its related complaints, the specialists propose advice and therapeutic recommendations.fr_FR
