Radiothérapie et cavité buccale

Abstract

Cette thèse a pour but de déterminer la fonction du médecin dentiste dans la prise en charge des effets de la radiothérapie sur les patients atteints de cancer des voies aéro-digestives supérieures et traités par radiothérapie cervico-faciale. La première partie de ce travail est consacrée à des rappels d’anatomie et de notion de cancérologie. La seconde partie décrit la notion de radiothérapie, ses principes fondamentaux et son évolution au cours de ces dernières années. Dans la troisième partie sont traitées les complications oro-faciales et les séquelles inhérentes à l’irradiation. Le dernier chapitre est réservé à la prise en charge stomatologique du malade irradié et aux différentes situations cliniques auxquelles est confronté l’odontologiste avant, pendant et après une radiothérapie cervico-faciale. Abstract : The aims of this thesis is to determine the dentist role in the care of the radiotherapy effects on aero-digestive tract cancer patients and treated by cervicofacial radiotherapy.

The first part reminds the risk factors of these cancers, their locations and their preventions. The second part describes the radiotherapy and its indications. The last part shows the dentist role in the prevention and the screening of these cancers and in her taken in charge of the irradiated sick.
