Abstract: BitTorrent and IPFS are the most popular peer-to-peer networks widely used for storing and sharing files. However, this popularity also has its consequences, especially in terms of security vulnerabilities and bandwidth saturation. Our project aims to detect and block the use of the peer-to-peer network within a corporate network. For this, an in-depth analysis of the network traffic packets was carried out using the packet analysis software Wireshark in order to extract the digital prints specific to BitTorrent and IPFS. These digital prints are then implemented through personalized rules in an IDS/IPS Suricata intrusion detection and prevention system. The results obtained during the tests carried out are encouraging, thus confirming the effectiveness of our approach.
