Abstract: The objective of this work is to perform an autopsy on three exhausted membranes from three seawater desalination stations by reverse osmosis, namely that of Fouka using a Hydranautics brand membrane, that of Hamma using an LG Chem membrane and that of Maqtaa operating with a Toray membrane, all the tests carried out on these three membranes revealed damage via the methylene blue and Rhodamine B tests. however, analyzes based on X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform spectroscopy, loss on ignition, the use of rinsing solutions based on hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide, sodium hydroxide, chloride of sodium and citric acid were unanimous on the saturation of the membranes in mineral and organic compounds in addition to the demonstration of the damaged and degraded state of the surfaces of the three membranes.
