We are interested in this work in the behavior of fine particles whose diameter is less than 160 µm in the flat glass melting furnace at the MFG (Medeteranean Float Glass) establishment. Interesting results have been obtained regarding the composition of the filler and its particle size. We were able to show their influence on the supply of the furnace as well as its thermal regime. We have determined that the furnace charge has 12% fine particles coming mainly from sand at 34% and dolomite at 29%. To remedy this problem, we have proposed feasible solutions to reduce the fine particles in the charge and avoid their clogging at the level of the furnace.fr_FR
