Abstract: The main objective of this study is to prepare a new class of sorbent matrices based on cellulosic waste for use as biosorbent in the purification of dye-laden water (Braillant Resyl Blue and Titanium Yellow) in single-component systems and binary mixtures. In simple monocomponent systems and for initial concentration (C0 = 20mg.L ), the kinetic study showed that the contact times of 60 and 120 min are sufficient to reach a pseudo equilibrium states for BCB and JT, respectively. -1 The sorption amounts of BCB in binary systems are lower than those obtained in simple single-component systems for all mass ratios, by the antagonistic effect. On the other hand, a synergistic effect was obtained for JT in the presence of BCB molecules. Modelling of the kinetics obeys the pseudo-first-order model, and the Langmuir model correctly describes the sorption isotherms.
