Abstract: The necessity for efficient disaster management systems has become more apparent as a result to the escalating occurrence and gravity of both natural and man-made disasters across the globe. Traditional systems often grapple with communication bottlenecks and limited accessibility, impeding prompt and coordinated responses during emergencies. This thesis proposes an innovative strategy to address these challenges by developing an advanced disaster management system that integrates Geographic Information System technology with Edge Computing architecture and Virtual Reality capabilities. By harnessing the synergistic potential of Geographic Information System, Edge Computing, and Virtual Reality technologies, this transformative approach aims to enhance communication, spatial visualization capacities, and decision-making processes. Through seamless integration, the system seeks to bolster disaster response efforts on larger scales. Ultimately contributing to the resilience and safety of communities countrywide. Keywords : Disaster recovery, Cooperative platform, Geographic Information System, Cloud/Edge/ Fog/ computing, Virtual Reality.
