Hypertension, is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Rapidly lowering blood pressure to normal levels is effective in reducing the risks of these diseases. Therefore, the oral administration of drugs through thin films is a better alternative in such cases. This method also offers an alternative to conventional treatments for inflammation, providing improved bioavailability and easier administration. In this study, the development of Oral Dissolving Films (ODF) using the solvent casting/evaporation method was explored for administering acebutolol hydrochloride, an antihypertensive drug, and diclofenac sodium, an anti-inflammatory drug. Physicochemical characterizations of the ODFs revealed an increase in the dissolution rate and extent of acebutolol and diclofenac. The oral films are evaluated for dimensions, disintegration, tensile strength, stability and folding endurance. These ODFs have numerous applications, such as taste masking and immediate release. Additionally, these systems can be easily applied on their own.fr_FR
