Abstract

La préparation dentaire est une phase cruciale du plan de traitement. Elle signifie la taille ou la décortication coronaire périphérique ou partielle par l’élimination de toute la surface amélaire et d’un pli de dentine à l’aide d’une instrumentation spécifique, afin de les séparer des dents adjacentes et antagonistes pour y interposer l'élément prothétique. La réussite d’un projet prothétique est influencée par la précision de réalisation de la limite cervicale, qui détermine l’emplacement et la qualité du joint dentoprothétique.

Chaque type de restauration prothétique nécessite une limite cervicale spécifique ainsi qu’une préparation périphérique bien précise. Le choix de cette limite doit se faire en amont de tout geste clinique. Il dépend des facteurs biologiques, mécaniques, du type de restauration prothétique prévu, de la demande esthétique du patient, de la facilite d'exécution de la limite et enfin de l'expérience du praticien. It means the reduction of the partial or peripheral coronal decortication by the elimination of the entire enamel surface and a dentin fold with a specific instrumentation, in order to separate them from the adjacent and antagonistic teeth to interpose in prosthetic element. The success of a prosthetic project is influenced by the accuracy of achieving the cervical limit, which determines the location and quality of the denture joint. Each type of prosthetic restoration requires a specific cervical limit as well as a specific peripheral preparation. The choice of this limit must be made before any clinical gesture. It depends on the biological and mechanical factors, the type of prosthetic restoration planned, the aesthetic demand of the patient, the ease of execution of the limit and finally the experience of the practitioner.
