Today, the fourth-generation (4G) mobile communication system cannot meet certain specific requirements, particularly high traffic density, number of connections, and mobilityThe need to accommodate more users at higher data rates with better reliability whileconsuming less energy has led to the emergence of a new generation of mobilecommunication technology; 5G technology. This project aims to thoroughly examine the 5G NR network, specifically focusing on itsradio component (RAN). The main objective is to dimension, plan, and optimize this networkusing simulation software that simplifies and streamlines these tasks. Multiple crucial aspects of 5G NR technology are addressed, highlighting its characteristicsparameters, and technical specifications. It also emphasizes the concept of sizing a cellularnetwork using coverage criteria as the basis for calculating the required number of sites to achieve marketing objectives with acceptable key performance indicators (KPIs). Ultimately, through meticulous planning and the use of the Atoll design tool, we successfully deployed a 5G NR network in the C-band, leveraging the existing 4G network and ensuringexcellent quality of service while optimizing costs.fr_FR
