L’ORTHODONTIE NUMÉRIQUE : VERS DES NOUVELLES PERSPECTIVES

Abstract

L’arrivée du numérique a bouleversé la pratique de l’orthodontie en faisant évoluer ses secteurs d’activité. Ce travail retrace succinctement ces évolutions au travers du parcours du patient. Le numérique permet aujourd’hui une fluidification du flux de soin depuis la gestion des données du patient jusqu’à un diagnostic plus précis débouchant sur des traitements individualisés dans leurs choix et dans leurs méthodes. Il a permis l’avènement des nouvelles méthodes de traitement comme les gouttières d’alignement. Toutefois, la numérisation des cabinets peut susciter des doutes face au coût qu’elle engendre. Depuis, cette numérisation a entraînée une dépendance des cabinets face à l’outil informatique, les rendant vulnérables face aux pannes ou aux cyberattaques. Abstract : The advent of digital technology has changed the practice of orthodontics by changing each business line. This work briefly retraces these evolutions through the patient’s journey. Today, digital technology makes it possible to streamline the flow of care from the management of patient data to a more accurate diagnosis leading to individualized treatments in their choices and methods. It has allowed the advent of new treatment methods such as alignment gutters. However, the digitization of cabinets can raise doubts about the cost it represents. Since then, this digitization has created a dependence on the computer tool, making it vulnerable to failures or cyber attacks.
