One of the most important refining operations of modern refineries; FCC (Fluid Catalytic
Cracking) is a conversion technique used in refineries to produce light petroleum products such
as LPG fromheavyoil fractions, gasoline, diesel and fuel oil.
The objective is to ensure an efficient conversion process in the presence of a catalyst, the
residue from the ADU(Unite100) unit into petroleum products (hydrocarbons) high quality,
while minimizing operating costs and meeting environmental emission standards.
In view of ourwork (optimization of the FCC process) we have detailed the catalytic cracking
process and studied the performance (activity, selectivity, stability) of the catalyst uses as well
as the influence of the operating variables on the quantity and quality of the yield by monitoring
the main operating parameters(available) of the reactor-regenerator section.
This includes the simulation of the reactor-regenerator cut by the HYSYS ASPEN V14 software
for confirmation of the obtainedresults and the correct operation of the operating parameters of
the unit that performance depends on it. |
