Résumé:
Copper is a metal in great demand in industry, in Algeria, the demand reaching 30,000 tons
every year, with 50% recycling rate and the annual market is estimated at 75 million dollars.
The aim of this work involves a study of copper scrap recovery at the ARAB METAL
company in Medea. The company recovers and processes 13.000 tonnes of copper annually.
The recovered copper is classified into 3 categories according to its purity. It undergoes a
series of treatments to produce mainly 8 and 14 mm copper wire for electrical wire
production.
