Résumé:
Algeria imports a large part of its food needs. Imported food must be monitored to protect public
health, and then matched to human consumption. Therefore it must fit with certain rules, including the
absence of radioactive contamination.
The Research Nuclear Center in Algiers (CRNA) identifies and estimates radioactive isotopes found in
imported and exported foods using gamma-ray spectrometry.
Key words: radioactivity – gamma spectrometry – radio-isotopes – radio-isotopes analysis – food contamination.
